2021 x3 m40i order

Super excited now. The status of the vehicle just went into production and VIN was assigned.

Timeline so far:
2/11 - Sales order signed with a local dealer
2/12 - Order confirmed in the queue by BMW. Production number assigned
2/19 - VIN assigned and status changes to in production.

Specs:
Alphin White
Cognac Vernasca Leather with contrast stitching
Executive Package
Shadowline Package
Adaptive M Suspension
Carbon Fiber trim
Harman Kardon surround sound
Rear manual side window shades (for the kids in car seats)
Space-saver spare
Trailer Hitch
Wireless Charging (Kinda expensive but no wires for the cleaner center console is worth it to me)

Now just waiting on my PCD date. Going to miss my 2018 x5d.

This is almost the exact build that I was going to do, until I found another X3M40 with similar options (But differnt color scheme) that was just too good a deal to pass up. Enjoy

I could not find any from NY, PA, VA or MD.

Is that Carbon black? That was going to be my second choice.

But I also can't complain since I got the same discount to buy one from dealer inventory as I did to buy a custom build.

Congrats and thank you for sharing your timeline, it's very useful! I have the same color M40i on order as well. I placed my order and received a production number on 2/15. Thanks to you, I have a very current frame of reference for when to expect the VIN and move into "in production" - woot!

I got my PCD date. It took about 2 days after the paperwork was submitted by the dealer to get the date. March 24 cannot come fast enough.

Already booked tickets to Greenville using our Delta miles.

Living in Western NY there is salt/snow 50% of the year.

I am debating between weathertech which I have always gotten with all my vehicles or the BMW Rubber floor liners.

whats everyone else using?

Got my email today from the performance center to schedule my trip. There was this tax pdf attached to the email. Does not affect me but for anyone who might be doing PCD.

*The following information only applies if you reside in the following states:
Arkansas, Maryland Oklahoma
District of Columbia Mississippi South Dakota
Indiana, North Carolina Virginia
Kentucky New Mexico West Virginia

Dear Performance Center Delivery customer,
The State of South Carolina imposes a use tax of $500 upon the first use of a new vehicle in
South Carolina, purchased from a state listed above. Since you will be taking delivery of your
new vehicle in South Carolina, this tax may apply.
This first time use tax will not be collected by your retail center or the BMW Performance
Center. Should the State decide to collect this tax from out-of-state consumers, it would be
billed by the State of South Carolina and payable directly to the same.
The BMW Performance Center is not aware of any instance where the State of South
Carolina has sought this first time use tax against any of our delivery customers. In the event
taxes are assessed and taxes were paid in your home state, recovery of taxes may be
available in full or part. Note that such recovery may not be available from states adjoining
South Carolina.

This I was interested in as well, until the CA told me his in his personal vehicle won't charge, it barely keeps an iPhone at around the same level if you are using the phone for anything. Even after his normal 45-60 minute drive, he only gets 1-5% charge added.

Anyone one else who recently ordered had issues getting Harmon Kardon added?

I was just looking at the x5 forums and people are reporting that HK audio is no available anymore in any of the packages.

No and mine just went into production this week

Now, keep in mind this is under "STANDARD FEATURES" so it's not part of a package deal. And, now that I think about it, it's for a X3M. Non-M's may have the Harmon Kardon separate from standard features.
