Hey all. My father just got a new Macan. He keeps his cars for 7-9 yrs, so I want to get him a clear bra to help protect it. After doing some research, I have a couple last questions for the group as I have never used one before:

1. Does anyone have a recommendation for a Miami area installer? And what is a "fair price" to expect (just so I know I am not being ripped off)?

2. Is there a clear favorite product here, or a couple interchangable ones that are each good and have loyal followers (like 3m and lunar for tint)? It seems like, in order, the general preference seems to be Xpel, llumar/suntek, 3m. It seems more important to find a good installer and go with the brand they offer than the other way around, though I'd probably prefer either Xpel or llumar/suntek.

3. Do installers typically "only" wrap the edges of panels OR machine cut the film, or can you ask them to do one or the other? I am hesitant to not get the edges of panels wrapped as I do not want to see the lip of the film accumulate dirt etc.

I got a paint correction done. Very good work. You will pay for quality work. I paid just shy of 1k for a total paint correction which is very reasonable. I imagine if you intend to have paint protection installed on just the front end (i.e. front bumper, partial or fill hood, and front quarter panels) it will run you a pretty penny. I wouldn't be surprised if it cost around 2k or more. Remember, a quality installer wont install paint protection film over a less then perfect paint job, so they will likely require a mild paint correction first.

Thanks! I ended up getting all the info I needed. Dad chose not to do it. Ha. I got full PPF on my m3 though. I used Always Sunny Detailing in Ft Lauderdale. Connor is a great guy.
