I have an E60. Guy needs to learn how to drive it. All the power up top in the rev range. Easily one of the most fun cars I’ve ever owned.

Unfortunately I dislike both of those things. And having experienced living in the UK with a LHD car, I dislike driving on the wrong side as well

That m5 definitely wasn't set to its full power. I also heard him short shift the hell out of it. An s85 below 7k is almost useless

My 528xi was my favorite BMW still do date. I miss that car so I would love to have an M5 or M3 wagon.

There are many things the M5 E6X platform is about...one of them is NOT drag races. Thus, predictable outcome. Anyone who has driven a BMW with the S85 engine knows the engine is absolutely epic above 7K RPM, and (relatively speaking

) ho-hum below that. The S58 is the ultimate expression of the M-racing engine/high RPM NA motor. This does not (IMO) make it a great DD, but it should be respected for what it is.

I had no idea the SMG gearbox was that bad until I saw this video. It's a damn shame the 7-speed DCT was available at the time and mated to this glorious NA 5.0L V10.

I'm not convinced that M5 was in P500. It was probably in 400HP mode.. sorry but 125HP more, rolling race from 70, 8K RPM, junk SMG or not, something doesn't add up.

That M5 is a 20 years old car, not sure how many of the original 507 horses are still around

that M5 most likely running poorly, I wouldn't be surprised if it had check engine light on in addition to abs sensor trifecta issues

It was a damp track which won't have help the touring cannot get its power down and SMG just makes it worse breaking traction on upshifts, it had no chance against AWD LC and turbo torque on the drag, the guy in the M5 is their pro driver so not user error just modern car vs older car. (although I'm not sure on hearing his voice again but they generally do use one when Yanni isn't taking part)

SMGIII actually shifts very quickly but brutally which won't have help in those conditions 60-80ms if I recall correctly in the fastest setting
