what do I need to install my pure 800 on M340 G20?

Hi, Im wondering which other modifications do i need in order to install the pure 800 turbo in my BMW m340? I have heard that I need to change other elements like injectors, etc. Im not expert technically that's why I'm asking because the idea is to import the turbo and then be installed by a professional technical here in Colombia.

Any experience? Thanks

Powerfull intake, Downpipe(ideally catted DP) & DME unlock.
& something like piggybox (JB4\MHD\BM3).
Btw, it's start kit for +\- 550-600HP.
If need more HP - Port injection kit with 750cc injectors,or charge-air cooler manifold, Meth or\and ethanol with Flex fuel sensor, cooling package like CSF & LPFP upgrade.
& you recieve on this config nearby 700HP. Need more ? Welcome to forged engine & tune transmition

No other modification is needed; you can install the turbo on a fully stock car.

But to take advantage of the larger turbo, I recommend a tune, intake, heat exchanger, and higher flow downpipe.

Depending on how much power you wish to make, you might need to upgrade the fueling and add methanol injection.

How safe would this be on a stock motor with no other modification? Considering there's no tune for the 21

Installing a bigger turbo and not changing anything will not make any difference. without a tune, the car wont make any significant power increase even if you install a larger turbo

There are lots of tunes for your car, Jb4 and Racechip and 2 options

I was wondering the same thing as the OP. I have the same year (2022) and understand the stock injectors are more capable than the previous version so I think I am good there. I have a JB4 but not being knowledgeable about tuning with it I would need someone to help make the most of a larger turbo.

I have a catted aftermarket down pipe so that box is checked. I have not changed the intake since most of my research says the stock intake is as good as the after market versions. Would adding a larger turbo yield significant enough gains to spend the time and money?

it's like wearing bigger shoes without an increase feet size. you won't kick the football any farther, in fact you might trip and get injured.

it's not a good thing.

the car computer is programmed to the stock turbo and stock other parts.

you want to get it to a proper tuner to reprogram the computer as well as buy whatever other parts you need to match this new body part.

you don't want to walk around with a massive right bicep and do no work to other body parts.

What if the turbo you are replacing can't hit the boost targets sent by the DME?

If your stock turbo cant achieve stock dme target, it is failing, replacing them will make more power

What if the reason is that the OTS tunes push the turbo compressor to its limits at sea level, and you are at altitude? So the turbo isn't failing, it's just undergunned with the thin air.

I have never seen this be the case as the OTS maps are conservative, but if that is the case, larger turbos would help

Here's what it looks like with an atmospheric pressure 2.5psi below what's at sea level. You get about 1.6psi of pressure deviation above 5k rpm.

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=623b...0b437bffa545d8

I have logs that go all the way to 5psi below sea level because I was curious.

For reference sea level is 14.7psi

I've got logs from the stock map. Other than that I haven't been below this elevation...have to drive for quite some time to get lower!

It would be good to see anyone else's logs with an OTS tune at about 5k feet to see how they compare.
