So I've just picked up a 2021 330d and I'm very happy with it for the most part. However, what I'm not too thrilled with are the standard sports seats. It feels like the drivers seat is off towards the centre console slightly, and I find my right leg tends to sit on top of the far right of the seat / leg bolster. This isn't particularly fun now I've had the car for a few weeks and the issue has become more apparent. I tried the seats in a G30 in the showroom today and the seat pan is wider and much more accommodating. I know it's a bit extreme, but I'm wondering whether I could find a pair of G30 seats and have them fitted into my G20? Would that even be possible?
Everything else about the car is spot on, and I'd really like to sort this seat issue out if I can. Any helpful advice would be much appreciated. Cheers. |

The 5 series seat is much larger and more comfortable and you don't have that sensation of sitting on the side bolsters that a lot get in the 3 series (I get it and I'm 150 pounds.). The 3 series seat is much more compact as that works in the 3 series perfectly. I doubt a 5 series seat would fit a 330, but call over to parts/ service and see if they could make it fit, or a high end auto after market installation store.
PS - be careful as you want to make sure that no safety mechanisms are affected by a seat switch |

I wonder if it would even fit. No way the seating track would fit right? Very interesting :-)

Thanks for the replies so far. Yes it would be interesting to know if they'd fit or not. Also, I wonder if there are other G series with more comfortable seats that could potentially bolt straight in to the G20s 🤔

Maybe not the G30 5er, but probably the G01 X3. I was shocked how soft the X3 seats were compared to the G20; my biggest complaint with these seats are how it feels like sitting on cardboard. There's like zero sponge in them and in longer rides it blows
Both the X3 and my 330i have the sensatec so I dont think it was the finish making that change either |

Following. I’m having similar comfort issues and I drive a lot (40k annually). Rather than replacing the seat, I’ve often wondered if a high end auto upholstery shop could change the foam/bolstering or whatever is under the Sensatec. Anybody had any experience with this??

I’m wondering if anyone did manage to find a better seat option.
