MPE on a '23/'24 g22 m440i coupe worth?
Is it worth getting an m performance exhaust on a 2024 m440?
Anybody with a 2023 m440i have MPE? I don't plan on doing any modifications (like downpipe, etc.) as I have neither the tools or knowledge (literally none) to do so. Any thoughts or feedback would be great! |

Personally, I do not like loud exhaust. I like more deeper slightly burbling sound. I looked over Dinan and AA and they were too much for me.
Considering I have AA downpipe, if ill pair it with MPE I think it will be good just enough for me. Where AA and Dinan will be way too much for me . As I mentioned before my dealer wants 2k almost for MPE, its a lot of money for just axle back I feel like, that is why still have pulled trigger on it.

I enjoy the deeper sound as opposed to a more high pitched sound. I also feel the aftermarket exhaust exhibit a small amount of droning. Additionally, I do not have the capability to install those parts myself in which I am hoping the port can install the exhaust. |

Catback is an exhaust that is changed from down pipe to your tail pipes (so pretty much whole route). Axle back is you keeping all your mid pipe and just swapping rear muffler

I had one on my Audi, resonated. It was good. I will be wiling to go full cat back for extra money over MPE as long as it is resonated.

I have a 2023 M440i that I had the stock exhaust replaced with the MPE about 7 weeks ago. It is pricey and I'm glad that I spent the money. If you are in Eco mode you barely hear that you have the exhaust. In comfort mode it's more noticeable but not obnoxious. In Sport Plus it's definitely noticeable inside and outside the car but I still wouldn't call it obnoxious. It does scream though if you accelerate very quickly to about 3,000 RPM then quiets down once you get past 3,000. I would spend the money again without hesitation.

Pops and burbles comes with ECU tune. That is controlled by timing when fuel is injected.
You have burbles now but they are very silent and not as much. With MPE you will have same amount of burbles but slightly louder.

How do you achieve an ECU tuning? Is tuning your car dangerous? I assume it puts more stress on the vehicle. |

Prior to my AA downpipe install on the MPE , she was loud enough to set off a aftermarket alarm but not a stock security alarm (this is out in the open on a driveway). And it was loud enough to vibrate the house windows if the cars exhaust is pointing towards the house. The good thing is that it quiets down soon after initial start. The MPE has a amazing tone. In a underground garage where I parked a few months ago I remote started the car as I was walking towards the garage , it sound like I had a down pipe installed. The noise ricocheted. ( this is when I didn’t have a downpipe) I set off a few aftermarket alarms but not factory security alarms. But again quites down quickly. Now with the AA catted downpipe it’s really loud out in the open and in a garage. And even though it quites down it’s still loud . But not obnoxious . it’s an amazing tone. like no other , the downpipe made the MPE that much better. |

I also have the MPE and AA catted downpipe except my car is a 2020 m340.
Burbles and pops are prevalent almost always, upshift farts, and also gunshots if I downshift correctly. I love it. Car came stock with the burbles and pops though, MPE and downpipe only amplified them. There is some drone in higher gears on the highway but In comfort mode you don’t really hear it. I like having the balance of loud or quiet exhaust, although comfort mode is still “louder” than normal since I added the downpipe. |
