USB to Internal Drive music transfer

M440I m sport. I have the 20 gig internal memory, but cannot find a way to transfer the contents of the flash drive to the internal memory. The car will play from the drive, but will not upload. I had the same feature on my Z4 (2015), what am I missing here?

You are missing that from 2021 BMW removed the internal storage function. It caches the information (from tags) and any playlist that you have on the USB-devices (up to 5 or 6 devices or something like that). This is at least how it works with iDrive 7 but I assume iDrive 8 is something similar.

Ahhh, ok. I have iDrive 7 because I like to have as many buttons as possible. Thanks much!
