Anyone actually know? Apparently the M2 will get 8.5 with MY24 cars... I guess MY23 and earlier are going to be left high and dry?

I don’t know, but the footnotes from this press release seem to indicate sometime in 2024…

also it seems that they will add the new upgraded head unit with the better chipset (Qualcomm Snapdragon) starting with July 2023 production, so the upgrade to idrive 8.5 from idrive 8 would be possible.

Sounds like MY24 will begin the model year shipping with iDrive 8, but with the new hardware capable of upgrading to 8.5 when it’s ready.
