Placed my first custom order for 2024 M340i
Today I got an allocation and placed an order for my second BMW and first one custom ordered. I'm excited and anxious for the wait.
Initially I wanted to order a M3 which is my long time dream car. But after some wise thinking/rethinking and test driving the M340i, I decided that financially I'm not ready for M3 yet and the M340 is exciting enough for now. It's fast enough and sporty enough for me to enjoy while using my money for some investments that will allow me to hopefully afford a M3 one day. I know, I know....the two are not the same cars. This will be my daily and only car. Anyway, I contacted a local broker 2 days ago, after couple of local dealerships didn't get back to me when I asked for allocation to order the car. One dealer tried to sell me the car I test drove but I didn't like the color combo (white on black leather - no thanks). I knew exactly the spec I wanted and didn't want to compromise on anything. Surprisingly the broker got back to me today with allocation and said the order can be placed immediately with production number. Which I did of course and got production number with status 111. Not only that but I didn't even have to pay him a broker fee. He said the dealership is paying him. Moreover, I got $1,800 off MSRP plus the $1,000 loyalty and $1,000 financing rebates. ETA I'm told is 2-3 months for the car to arrive. Here is the spec I ordered: Skyscraper Grey Metallic Tacora Red SensaTec Aluminum Rhombicle Anthracite Trim Cooling and High Performance Tire Package - with 19" M Double-spoke Bi-color Jet Black Wheels, Style 792M with Mixed Tires Driving Assistance Package Parking Assistance Package Premium Package Shadowline Package - with M Sport Brakes with Red Calipers SensaTec Dashboard Harman Kardon surround sound system How do you guys handle the wait time? |

Congrats on the order! I handled the wait by obsessively checking the site every couple hours and watching every M340 video on YouTube. It was a problem, lol. Wouldn’t change a thing though, I’m totally in love with the car.

Most of us just look up the status every day and once it’s built track the boat until it arrives at the dealership. It’s an up and down roller coaster. I placed my order with an allocation on 12/5. Mine is on a boat that just arrived to port Baltimore yesterday. Next stop is my dealership in Appleton, Wisconsin.
This is the tracking thread where you’ll find all info and tools. https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1622341 |

Congrats on the purchase and glad you got to order your spec that you wanted. Hope the M340 serves a great all around vehicle as it has for me.

Thanks! For the cost of the car, it was important to me to get the spec I wanted without compromising, even if it means waiting 2-3 months. I know the wait will be worth it at the end. I was lucky enough with the 330i to find the exact spec I wanted at a dealership. But the M340s are rarer and more special models, so it's more difficult to find exact spec, especially the combo I went with. |

The adaptive suspension is part of the Cooling & HP Tire Package actually. That's why I went for the package rather than just the suspension and the 19" wheels. Getting upgraded cooling, breaks and non run-flat Michelin Pilot 4S tires (better ride than run-flats) for additional $1,250 seems like a good deal to me.

Congrats!
Glad you got a quick allocation for your order. I'm patiently waiting for my order to move into production with a 13 week completion schedule.

Congrats on the order!
I filled the time like everyone else and obsessively tracking the order. I also joined BMWCCA, joined this forum, and watched every YT video ever created for my car. |

Thanks. I'm obsessively watching YT videos too. Especially for exhaust options and lowering springs+spacers. Also, heavily browsing and reading the forums here. |

My order is for a M440ix Gran Coupe. If still interested in the spec, here's a link:

Why not add the M performance exhaust to your build versus aftermarket?

OP, my local dealer just got this one in last Tuesday, very similar spec to what you ordered. The CA sent me some pics and a short video on Wednesday and the wife and I went and looked at it. Ultimately, we decided to order bc my wife wants Tanzanite.

Was this dealer ordered or customer ordered car? Never let a woman decide. Tanzanite is dark color that is hard to maintain clean, similar to black. High maintenance like women. Silver is the best car color for me, unless it's exotic sports car. Since BMW doesn't offer Glacier Silver anymore, Skyscraper and Brooklyn grey are the closest to it. I prefer the tone of the Skyscraper over Brooklyn. |

I’m pretty sure this was a dealer ordered car. I believe it does have that interior trim
