M340ix Steering Feel?

Hi all,
I just moved up from a 330ix to a '21 M340ix and while I was prepared for a much firmer and stiffer ride (no active suspension), the difference in road feel through the steering wheel is definitely much more pronounced. Not the tightness of the steering but actual transmission of road surface irregularities into the steering wheel. I felt basically nothing through the wheel of my 330ix, very disconnected but it seems I can gauge the smoothness of the road surface, not just expansion joints, cracks, potholes, etc. through the wheel of the M340.

I'm assuming the Michelin RFT's aren't helping but the tire pressure is per the door jamb label and all other suspension components have been checked by the dealership and the car has had a recent wheel/ tire road force balance.

Is this steering feedback typical for an M340?

Appreciate all comments!

Yep, when I test drove the M340i, it was much firmer and tighter than my 330i. Run flat tires definitely stiffen the ride tremendously. I’d highly recommend switching to standard non-run flat tires such as the PS4S for added comfort, increased handling/grip, less road noise and better overall performance. Also, for additional steering wheel feedback and NVH, I’d recommend purchasing dinan monoballs.

I really appreciate the feedback and Dinan monoball recommendation. Now I just need to look them up to find out what they are. LOL!

Have a slight steering wheel vibration between 70 - 75 MPH that I also need to figure out. Couple of minor wheel dents have been straightened and then road force balanced but it's still there. All other front-end components look good and are tight. Not a major vib. but I notice it and it's annoying.
