REAR FOG LIGHT SWAP. HELP.

For my UK car to be compliant in Germany the rear fog light has to be viewed on the left not the right like in the UK or both have to be illuminated. There are no physical LEDs in the left light cluster like there are in the right.

I took the car to BMW Paderborn (Germany), their cars have the LEDs in the left side and none in the right. Weird thing is the part numbers are exactly the same to our UK lights.

Im sure if i buy a left light cluster here in Germany the lights will come with it. Does anyone know if the wiring will have to be changed or would it be easier running a cable from the right hand cluster to feed power to the left hand cluster. I just need it to pass a lights test and can disconnect it if it throws up a fault.

Any help from people who have had experience with this would be appreciated as BMW paderborn were stumped and have escalted to BMW Munich for answers.

Did you ever get this sorted? I am in a similar position with registering 330e G20 in Spain.

The rear boot lid wiring harness part no is the same for LHD and RHD cars, I’d have a look at the connector on the back of the light to see if it’s a separate connector for the fog and if so can it be routed either side of the boot lid.
