Boot not opening properly

When I collected the car from the dealership (2021 g20 320i) the boot like opens slightly not fully when I hold the button down. Issue could be the springs. I have booked an appointment back with Bmw for next month for a service of this issue. Anyone else had this problem?

Also when on Apple carplay, sometimes the left right buttons on the steering wheel for the Music don’t change the song, but they do work always for the normal radio which they are for? So Idk i’m a bit confused.

Also on different profiles on the BMW when putting CC on, the fan comes on but on my profile the AC comes on? Why is this?

Other than that my car is a beast

Ok, for what it’s worth, my limited knowledge:

1. When pressing the boot open button on the fob, do you keep the button pressed after the boot lid has opened slightly? Does it work with the boot release in the car? Have you got the electric opening boot?

2. Apple Car Play could be down to the connected package not been renewed . It can be a bit fiddly.

3. I’m assuming you mean AC not CC? I assume your profile is the dominant one .

Sorry, brighter people will be along shortly

Can't help with the boot (I have a Touring) but:
  • CarPlay skip track buttons always work on mine so far but I do get other issues sometimes e.g. occasionally it will refuse to connect my phone and says the bluetooth version is incompatible, which it isn't; an iDrive restart (hold press volume / on-off button for >30s) fixes that, might be worth a try to see if it fixes the track buttons for you.
  • Individual settings for climate control are stored in your driver profile so you should be able to change it to whatever settings you want and it'll remember them next time you get in the car using the assigned key / log in to that profile. Sounds like you car is doing that but it's just set up differently under the different profiles?

I've also had the CarPlay issue but it usually goes away again next time I'm in the car. Workaround is to use the rocker/roller to change songs instead.

The steering wheel buttons not skipping tracks has happened to me a few times in 3 years and usually sorts itself out the next time I start the car.

As for the boot, the manual one has 3 spring tension settings that you can get to by removing the boot lining to the left and right. When I put a spoiler on I found I needed to move the spring to a different position for it to still open after adding the extra weight.

F30 video here, but it’s the same kinda thing for the g20

Boot springs aren’t great tbh.

Mine only opens the latch and then only sometimes will it have enough spring to actually open.
