There is some room for negotiation at this point. Somewhere around 5% -6% on a new M440i is what i understand. Hoping to be in the market to order one in the next few months.

Currently not offering anything shocking on the M440i like they are on the i4 (see bmwusa site for finance offers) but if you google M440i finance offers you land on a lot of BMW dealer sites which all seem to be the same rate from what i can tell.
https://www.bmwoffremont.com/global-...dde1f19197.htm Check your local credit union for rates, but interest rates are somewhat high overall so those days or 2.99 and 1.99 are a thing of the past unless car sales continue to decline \ struggle. Subvented interest rates are a great way to spark up sales as they begin to slump (which they are). Last edited by 335aw; 07-05-2024 at 10:40 AM.. |

Luxury car market is taking a beating. The days where the wealthy would buy/lease a new car just because they could are long gone - some are even trying to get out of cars that are beginning to make their way to the dealer.
For everyone else, the payments are just still too high vs. what we've been used to pre-COVID. The programs are slowly getting better but still a bit too expensive than what we're used to. If you're able to get a good deal and you're really looking for a car, I'd say go for it. I wouldn't be waiting/looking for pre-COVID pricing anymore. |

I am surprised to see the lack of incentive on BMW products. We will see how it shapes up over the next several months. |

what tactics you are using to haggle on price? do you set target monthly payment and go from there?

In my experience, the best way to get a good deal is to get a few dealers to compete for your business. This may be more or less difficult depending on how many dealers are in your area. Extending your search beyond your immediate area (I'd look at dealers within a 200 mile radius) can help. I would also just focus strictly on the out-the-door price (with all fees included). Get multiple dealers to give you their best price here and take the best one and go back to the other dealers to try and beat it. Do this multiple times until you have the best deal you can get. If you start with your target monthly payments, they can make that number match what you want by playing around with rates and terms without giving you any actual decent deal. Once you've agreed on an out-the-door price, then you can start talking about how you want to pay for it and what your lease/finance/trade/cash amounts would be. There are some good free resources that may be worth checking out around this too . . . Caredge deal school 3.0 is a good one, but I think it may just be more relevant to North America folks. |

was just coming here to say go watch car edge's content on youtube and specifically their deal school. Such a great resource and the dad is hilarious when he goes on his rants and his son just crawls up and cringes haha

They figured out quickly that I was a serious buyer and have been great to me ever since! Got 5.5% off a new 2021 540i xDrive in Dec 2020 and got the same this time, plus the military salute ($2500) add'l savings. I could have pushed for 6% as I've seen that number in multiple posts, but I thought the price they gave me was more than fair Last edited by MM70; 08-21-2024 at 01:37 PM.. Reason: typo |

Is the best method to build one online and then go dealer to dealer asking for 5% off MSRP? Talking about MY2025 here. Or would it be advantageous to pick a smaller number of dealers and negotiate down?

I would not ask for a specific % off. Just take the best quote you get and show it to the others - repeat that until they stop trying to compete/beat it. The risk with asking for a specific % off of MSRP is that the dealer may just tack on 5% of dealer "add-ons" to offset it or maybe you could get over 5% depending on dealer competition in the area. Your specific local market is going to drive how much dealers will discount and compete. |

The market has slightly steered in the favor of the buyer as long as you are willing to walk away if the price is not right, I wouldn’t pay any ADM considering the high interest rates.

Much appreciated - thank you. I'm torn between building a new MY2025 or getting a gently used MY23 for mid 50's.
The only problem I've seen is that adaptive suspension is a must, but it's pretty rare. I'm not in any hurry, though, so may keep my eyes open and pull the trigger on a new build in Dec when promos will prob be best. Last edited by smeal4128; 08-23-2024 at 10:06 AM.. Reason: sp |
