Thanks for the prompt - I'm downloading it now. Every time I download an update I hope that BMW have fixed the navigation software which is simply not fit for purpose - suggests ridiculous routes, refuses to re-route when I ignore them, absolutely refuses to use a B road near my home which I have driven many thousands of times and is normal in every way and heavily used by all classes of vehicle. In all my previous BMWs the navigation software was excellent.

Sadly, nowadays I revert to Waze if I don't actually know the locality.

I suppose the main (routeing) problem lies with the software rather than the maps, but here's hoping, as ever, for some improvement. Preparing for another disappointment.

It should be available for you if your subscription is still valid

Just a thought, have you checked your Connected Drive account? I've just updated our iMac to the new OS Seqouia and had to log in and re-affirm my Connected Drive account, could it be something similar with you?

I'm waiting for the BMW Black Friday offer to renew the map update service. Over the last few years there has been a good discount. Same for safety camera data.

BTW the discount was 20%!

I was able to download and install the last map update just 2 or 3 days before my own Connected Drive subscription expired. So you should be OK in that regard.

My account says the digital maps expires in 13 days, and I can renew now, but there is no download option I could find. So it seems they have cut me off before then end of the paid for service?

Just checked the invoice form last year and map service runs until 7th October 2024. So yes, they have cut me off early - unless I'm being dumb and I can't see the download option?

I've emailed ConnectedDrive for an explanation...

You need to download the "BMW Download Manager" app for either Windows or Mac. Then link that to your Connected Drive account, Download the files to a USB Ped Drive, and then transfer that to the car.

Are you sure you’ve all paid for the map updates if you’re not receiving the update?

Something strange going on here. I rang Connected Drive today as the download manager is still only offering me 2024-3. The chap was adamant that the system was telling him that this is the latest version for me (G21 330i July 21 build with ID7).

Aha, so maybe I'm not paranoid after all. Mine officially ends on October 28th although quite how that is derived from the registration date of 2nd September I'm not sure.

It's based on the production date not the registration date.

. ..... but surely if that's the case then three years from the production date would mean the connected drive would expire before the first registration date, not after?...or am I missing something here?
