Bmw m laptimer app gone missing

Has anyone noticed the BMW M lap timer app has disappeared recently in I drive 7 built in factory apps assortment?

I actually liked it and used it on track and it worked well.

Why would BMW remove this app? I would hope they have better things to deal with than removing an app to millions of vehicles, But i guess not. Maybe focus on making sure cars off the assembly line are not going to be recalled upon hitting the dealer lots by the thousands, along with quirky software issiues in most newer BMW's.

I did have the software updated to 7-2024 last week. The app was there before that dealer visit

I will be contacting BMW Monday. I hope they have a good answer for there sake!

It could be because an update was done but it didn't have an internet connection (no reception or sim is disabled). If it does an update without a connection some apps don't get downloaded.

I had that happen to me on an update when I had my sim card disabled (so no internet connection) the apps came back when I re-enabled the sim card.

It is also missing from all 8 of my friends whom own G 20s.
This is very odd.

Yes i have on 3 G20's App is gone from my cars and all my friends cars.

No need to contact bmw, I did have this app but bmw stop using this app and they remove it from their app store. So going forward once you update software or renew subscription it will automatically remove from your Idrive.

I have friends who have Not updated software and the app is gone. it was removed from i drive 7 last week. This app ,is not ties to subscriptions etc

This is an app that came with the car as a feature and there would be no reason to remove it. If they take away a feature than they will pay for that

I have filed formal paperwork to BMW on this just this morning. I will give them 14 business days to put the app back or this goes to court.

App is showing up in IDrive7.

Still on original factory software. 22M340

Thank you for the update.It is coming to light that this is a random thing going on..Many report it's missing and others report it's still within the factory apps of I drive 7.

Hope BMW is on this with a fix.

On another subject I would update your software as alot of nice changes since the version you have

I wonder if the app has been deleted from the 330i G20 and remains in the 340i G20.My guess is that there is something else going on, that the app is missing for some and not others. I am still pursuing this matter.

Mine still had the m lap timer when I bought the car used. It got removed after I subscribed to connected drive.

That is an interesting connection. I wonder if the whole connected Drive subscription when renewed, is the problem on the back end and is deleting the m laptimer app..

It's a mystery and BMW will have to figure it out and fix it
