ConnectedDrive Black Friday deals

BMW ConnectedDrive is offering 20% off from 27/11 to 05/12, just in time for me to renew my traffic camera information.

I can’t see the dels because everything is already ticked for me. Are they offering Service Inclusive again this year? If so, it’s well worth it because a) of the discount, and b) for Black Friday it’s usually extended to a five year term. But they don’t offer it every year.

It's listed on the website, but like you I already have it, so can't see the price. Best thing is for interested people to check on the 25th.

The deal prices are not yet listed so if you do want to work it out then you have to logout and take 20% off all the prices you see

Still bummed I my service inclusive purchase didn't go through 2 years ago!

is 'high beam assist' any good on the G20 ?

as a shift worker i do plenty of driving in the dark between October and April , and might be tempted to buy it at the current price of £160 , as opposed to the usual £200.

It works well, in my experience. Seems very responsive, and I have never felt it late switching between beams.

I think for £160 its probably worth it.

I have lasers so the HBA is included and does the anti dazzle features as well. Not tried the standard headlights with just on/off HBA but, like I say probably worth it for the money.

Yeh…I purchased the HBA a couple of years back for £110 at the time, and have found it to be really good. Have driven other makes of vehicle where it hasn’t been great, but seems to work well on the g20.

Absolutely! As others have said it works really well so long as you're above about 35mph and out of street lit areas.
Got it on mine with laser headlights and on my wife's with LED headlights, works really well on both!

I have it with the Laser lights, and it is brilliant. I have done a number of road trips on mixed roads in UK and France, driving through dark roads with oncoming vehicles every now and then, dips, curves, and bends, sleepy villages, and it works automatically every time. Makes driving in the dark stress-free.

Offering a deal like this at the same time every year on a service you pay for on an annual basis means the same people benefit every year but most of us can't because our existing subscription doesn't expire at the right time

Or... You can do what I did, and just let your subscription expire when it's due for renewal, and then renew it at Black Friday.

The services, for me anyway, are a "nice to have" but not a "need to have"

But you may be in a different position.

I find the services far too useful to be without them for a meaningful amount of time. It's one of my favourite features of the car.

Does anyone else not have a big problem with this hba yearly fee? What the actual f@ck. Its a premium car for god's sake, and it's the lights and features of those lights that are already on the car. I find this whole concept disgusting, and is really making me think twice about what marquee will be next on the drive. Things like connected drive, where there is a service being delivered over the air, I get it, but the lights....

It does bug me that I have a button on the indicator stalk that doesn't do anything. But TBH I'd rarely find the opportunity to use HBA.

If the one off fee to have it "unlimited" actually meant that when I sold the car it would still work for the next owner, then I'd probably purchase it, just so it's there as another additional selling point, on my pretty much otherwise "fully loaded" car, but seemingly that's not the case.

I suspect that the "unlimited" functionality would cease when my Connected Drive subscription was trasferred away from the car. As far as I know anyway!

The t&cs for unlimited state “Valid as long as the technical requirements apply for the respective vehicle.”

So it stays with the car, not the connected drive account. (Else you could swap cars and take HBA with you!).

I can't find it now, but an article I read some time ago from the motoring press when researching what the different Connected Drive options do, and the cost etc, stated that when the subscription ends, the features you have purchased would not be transferrable to the new owner, and that those options would be disabled again.

Perhaps that does not apply to HBA, but I can't see that being the case. It's another opportunity for BMW to fleece the new owner.
