Turning off cylinder deactivation in 2025 m340?

Was just curious... is there any way to disable the cylinder deactivation feature in the 2025 m340?

In the previous cars with mild hybid, putting it in sport mode would defeat the auto start stop.

Was just wondering if there was anything similar for the cylinder deactivation feature in the new 2025 cars.

Currently, there's no straightforward way to disable the cylinder deactivation feature in the 2025 M340i. While Sport mode in previous models could deactivate features like auto start-stop, cylinder deactivation operates differently and isn't easily turned off. The ECU manages this feature to optimize fuel efficiency, and there's no dedicated mode to disable it completely.

In Sport+ mode, cylinder deactivation is significantly reduced but not entirely deactivated. The ECU still tries to balance performance and efficiency, so it might deactivate some cylinders during low-speed cruising or when using cruise control on highways.

Until we find a way to completely disable this feature, be cautious about switching from mild driving to aggressive driving quickly. Personally, I drive conservatively in Comfort mode and more aggressively in Sport+. Rapid transitions from calm to aggressive driving can potentially cause issues due to cylinder deactivation. This problem is fairly well-documented with the first generation of the Gen3 B58 engine.

All these tighter and tighter fuel and emission requirements from the govt gotta stop. Yes we do need to regulate things, but now it has gone unrealistic.

The fuel saving and reduction of emission will cause unnecessary wear on other parts that eventually create more carbon footprint than it reduced when those parts needs fixing/replacing.

Not to mention the axiety it causes for the customers. But this is just my opinion.
