So we should see this in a 3 series around 2032?

Got to agree with the person who said ID7 was peak iDrive.

With you on that one Paul! I'm getting far too old for all this state of the art modern technology so fingers crossed my 2022 G22 will still be soldiering on for many years to come. Bearing in mind also that the (almost but still not quite) same spec car now is an eye-watering ten grand more only two years on from when I bought this one!

The panoramic display from pillar to pillar looks good, but lets see it IRL first The HUD looks great.
The central screen is plain ugly, the shape is weird and the whole thing is out of place. The removal of iDrive knob is stupid, as this was the best solution to date on the market! The insistence of manufacturers on pushing capacitive buttons on steering wheel down the customers' throats feels like an insult aready. BMW made a small step forward, but did 3-4 steps backwards in usability, safety and design. iDrive 7 was the best both functionally and esthetically!

There's a point when we have too much information.

I've only had iD8 for a short while, but found it far more distracting than iD7 - too many apps, though I guess you can set things up to probably streamline things. I really do like the climate buttons, as well as the programable shortcut 1-8 ones with iD7.

Exactly why I'm planning on keeping my ID7 for as long as possible.
As it happens due to the crap weather and my car being very clean and in the garage it hasn't turned a wheel in over four weeks now!
Really do need to run it next week though to prevent any battery charge issues manifesting themselves!
