Can I improve braking feel/responsiveness? [M340i]
Today, thanks to a newly passed driver (whose driving was more consistent with someone who didn’t know the rules of the road), I had to do an emergency stop for the first time in the M340i. The brake pedal had to travel much further than I was expecting and I was worried about a collision because of the distance the car travelled before stopping. It’s used approved and has covered 6k miles. First brake service due in six months. My old Golf GTI had upgraded brakes and the braking feel was excellent - I would have stopped in half the distance covered by the BMW.
Is it just a case of getting used to the brakes? Is there any way to make the brakes more responsive, especially when doing an emergency stop? EDIT: I’ve had the car for two weeks and been gentle with it, driving mostly in comfort mode. Last edited by Stealthwolf; 01-22-2025 at 03:44 PM.. |

My 2022 m4440i has excellent responsive brakes and brakes very well with the slightest touch of the brake pedal. I do have the ZTK brake package.
