2013 Formula 1 Shell Belgian Grand Prix
I still don't get why there's a need for summer break in the middle of the season. Except cost saving. They should've keep the season and momentum going and finish the season earlier. Then post a mandatory factory closed for three weeks after the last race of the season.
Anyways, back in action at the best track in the world. Race Date: 25 Aug 2013 Circuit Name: Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps First Grand Prix: 1950 Number of Laps: 44 Circuit Length: 7.004 km Race Distance: 308.052 km Lap Record: 1:47.263 - S Vettel (2009) Tire Compounds Provided: Prime: Hard (Orange) Option: Medium (White) Rain: Cinturato Intermediate (Green) / Cinturato Wet (Blue) F1 TIMETABLE (Belgium Local Time) Fri 23 August 2013 Practice 1 10:00 - 11:30 Practice 2 14:00 - 15:30 Sat 24 August 2013 Practice 3 11:00 - 12:00 Qualifying 14:00 Sun 25 August 2013 Race 14:00 F1 TIMETABLE (Pacific Time) Fri 23 August 2013 Practice 1 01:00 - 02:30 Practice 2 05:00 - 06:30 Sat 24 August 2013 Practice 3 02:00 - 03:00 Qualifying 05:00 Sun 25 August 2013 Race 05:00 F1 TIMETABLE (Eastern Time) Fri 23 August 2013 Practice 1 04:00 - 05:30 Practice 2 08:00 - 09:30 Sat 24 August 2013 Practice 3 05:00 - 06:00 Qualifying 08:00 Sun 25 August 2013 Race 08:00 Not sure why the FOM site has Vettel's lap time as track record. Where was Kimi's time in 2005 was 2 seconds faster as listed on FIA site? Both Qualifying sessions and Race should be broadcast on NBCSN. No alternative channels for this weekend.

I would imagine that the break is for 2 reasons:
1) Automotive factories are usually closed down in August for retooling (probably not an relevant issue anymore) 2) F1 is run by Europeans and they take August off. SPA baby!

August is a HUGE month for vacations in Europe. I have been working for European companies for a while now and August are usually dead for business.

Would love for Mark to win.
However, given recent history... there's going to be something retarded that's going to cock it up for him. I choose you, Nico! |

So very true, he isn't the luckiest guy out there, lets hope when Ricciardo takes over the seat in 2014 he doesn't inherit the bad luck too!

The track has been changed over the past few years...
Removal of Bus Stop chicane, etc.
Maybe that's why Vettle is listed as having the fastest time as he has the fastest time in the track's current configuration??? Dunno for sure |
