I was stopped at the lights, and selected Comfort Plus - my dash showed its now in second gear. Hit the button again to go to Comfort and its now in first gear. Hit it again and its in second gear.

So Comfort Plus takes off in second gear - anyone else notice this?

Which also means the coding is definitely changing some parameters. I still can't tell any difference in the dampers though between Comfort and Comfort Plus, though.

PS: I have XHP and that enables having the gear number displaying next to the "D" on the dash (like "S" mode does) so that's why I can immediately see this.
I've recently also coded 'Comfort+' onto my tuned X3 M40i (TU, ID7 car) and I am also on a Sutphin TCU tune which does have the 'gear number display' included. I am noticing the same exact charactistics as you are describing. My 2nd gear is gone in 'Comfort+' at red light/stopped situtations. As soon as I click comfort and switch to regular 'Comfort' mode it throws me back into 1st gear.

Also, side note: Has anybody figured out a way to allow the car to start up automatically in 'Comfort+' mode instead of regular 'Comfort' mode?

This would be super useful for winter/snow. Starting on icy roads is iffy on 1st gear.

Honestly, I am not a fan of the second gear being deleted.

Though I do like the way 'Comfort Plus' manages the gear shifts — the progression from second through eighth gears feels well-balanced and responsive during everyday driving around town.

What do you mean by second gear being deleted?

Yeah that comment makes no sense. What (I assume) he means is it starts in 2nd gear and doesn't use 1st gear when in Comfort+.

That is what I and others have confirmed with Comfort +
That it will take off in second gear and not use first gear at all.

Yes that is exactly what I mean, my bad.. It's not deleted but taking off in second gear is a huge downside (for me) in Comfort Plus mode. If it started in 1st gear like regular Comfort mode but having all the other characteristics of Comfort Plus, then I'd be happy.

I went ahead and removed the coding since it's bothering me too much.

What's wrong with taking of in 2nd gear?
Tbh, this feature is what stopped me from buying xhp. I wanted to buy it just for taking of in 2nd gear, I'm not interested in an actual stage on my transmission.
But now, I just use comfort plus when I want to take off in 2nd gear.

Hi.

Thanks heaps.

I have a 2024 BMW F96 X4M Comp and I can't believe how much better the car feels after using Bimmercode in Export Mode.
  1. Steering is quite a lot softer/smoother
  2. The ride is a lot nicer, it's firm as you'd expect but the bumps are cushioned
  3. Starting off just seems a little smoother and for me, a little punchier

Maybe the only negative that I'm sure can be addressed is that the difference between normal steering and Cruise Control Lane Assist steering is significant, you're driving within your lane and if the car detects movements within your lane, you feel the stronger steering taking control.

Cheerz

I used Bimmercode in Expert Mode with ENet cable & LAN to USB-C adapter connected to my Samsung S8 to do that & it worked fine

Hope that helps!

I found it pretty straightforward with Bimmercode. Be aware that it can't be undone without applying a backup. I wanted to get rid of it, but it was so far back that I would have had to undo a lot of other things. It wasn't worth it, so I kept.

I found with my '22 M340i, it was hardly noticeable.

Yeah not noticeable at all in my 2021. Removed it since it felt redundant.

I used Esys to revert back — no need to load backup like Bimmercode. BimmerUtility is also an option.

On my M340i with adaptive suspension I did not feel a difference. Might be the way the car is setup
