RWD is not coming out anytime soon. Per the order guide:
Please note: The BMW M340i RWD variant will be unavailable at launch. Future availability TBC. Why you would buy a RWD car in Canada is beyond me, though. You might as well wait for the M3, the one major advantage of the M340i over the M3, other than price, is AWD. |

If you want a RWD car, buy the M3 pure. My 340 gets winter driven and I'll take AWD thanks.
I'm even considering the m3 now due to the availability of AWD.

You can't compare prices from one country to another...but FYI, with fees and taxes you can easily cross the 80k CAD mark up to 90k.

It's interesting that for marketing purposes they downplay the f30 0-60 when comparing it to the new model. Bmw.com always stated 4.6 for the xdrive and 4.4 for mppsk f30. Now that they want to make comparisons they say it's 4.9 in this brochure.

Unless you're strongly considering a M3 or any M car for that matter, you're not going to up-sell the average consumer from a base BMW to a M car because they're completely different across the board in terms of drive, feel and most importantly, price. From experience, the only people really buying M cars are rich kids and those who know what M cars and by that, I mean they know BMW M more than just the badge on the rear. Everyone else, they're settling and looking at 35i/40i models. |

With remote engine start on the new 3, I would hope this can be a dealer install for other '19 & up models.

Got response from high level executives in bmw canada. Not sure what it means for RWD M340i. Seem like typical PR bulls. I know it is not business savvy for they to have rwd in stock and hope someone will buy it. They will definitely lose money if they do. But why stop people from custom ordering on demand? What is the extra cost in this?

Not everyone can afford a M3. I'd love to buy a G80 M3 Competition with M-Xdrive. But I can't afford it. And it is stupid to pay more to just get rwd bmw.

If i were ordering this car i would have to select the high gloss kidney grille, black side mirrors and black wheels to get rid of that awful looking pewter color trim they are using on these M Performance models. It should be a nice looking car specced that way.

Affordability can mean different things to different people but $100 extra per month is nothing to overlook - that is a pretty large increase for a car payment. |

Because that price does not include the 12% tax and the 3% luxury tax we also have to pay, plus additional freight and pdi it would definitely be over 80k. But yes most cars in North America are cheaper than Europe

I mean the M340i is 382 hp... you can argue that the M3/M4 is just too much now and more of a cash grab. It's basically as fast as an F80 M3. Just like the RS4 and C63s...
I was looking at a 325xit brochure yesterday and the 210 hp I6 was rated at 8.4s for the 0-100 sprint. fast forward today and a 330xi is sub 6 seconds and just over 4 seconds for the M340i...
