I’m currently a C43 owner and my lease is up in a few weeks, I’m leaning towards a Bmw m340i. From what I see from the numbers the bmw leases out better. Wish me luck I’ve been trying to schedule appointments to test drive the bmw but the response time has been really bad. Spoke to a few dealers (NY NJ PA CT) and they have been giving me some outrageous numbers

Goodluck! The dealer I signed with is open but 90 miles from me. I think in a couple of weeks I'm going to drive over there to take a m340 for a test drive, I stil l haven't driven one. It wasn't available during the m-town tour.

Thanks! It looks like I stuck a deal with bmw David but I haven’t test drove car and trying to get in contact with one of these dealers for an appointment has been a task in itself. Here in NY well in the north east region because of the pandemic everything is by appointments |

The gov fees is high but it will get adjusted once everything is finalized, I didn’t agree to anything yet but if I pay the taxes and fees up front I’ll be paying ~ $590 a month. I know rule of thumb is 10% but I can’t seem to get that anywhere maybe because I’m not in the brand. I really want the car in dravit gray, there is a dealer by me that has one how I want it equipped but in the Portimao blue which I’ll settle for, I’ll use this deal as leverage to see if they would give me a better deal

I was in contact with about 7 dealerships that’s down to 2 excluding bmw david. the main issue is barley any dealers have the car equipped how I want so it’s like they not working with me because they have to locate the car, at lease that’s there excuse

That's just my take and maybe others can truly get the extra $850ish off but with no work involved and dealing with someone you like I'd take it! |

Have you located the car yourself? I've found the best way to get a no-nonsense experience and maximum discount is to do all the work yourself, and then it's just up to the dealer to agree to your numbers or not. That way it's an "easy sale" for them... all they have to do is agree to numbers, all the work's already been done.

Hey guys, having a hard time making a decision, got quoted two different options from two different dealers. My current lease on a 440i ends in July but given the current situation got some good offers.
-Option A: Local dealer, New Car MRSP 67K $0 down, first month free, remaining ~785/month for 3y/36K miles. This is the RWD, Premium Pk, Driving Assistant, and comes with some other options as well as some M-package spoilers and carbon fiber mirrors. Really like the car exterior. They would take my current lease and make the payments with no cost. -Option B: Dealer at major city, CPO w 4K miles, MRSP 64K, $0 down, $335 first month, 835/month for 3y/36K miles. X-drive, premium package, executive package, driving assistant professional, adaptive suspension and some other gadgets. They would take my car but they are basically putting my remaining payments (~1800) into the monthly cost. So basically I'm at a 2K difference on the whole deal. Is it worth to pay more for the x-drive, the adaptive suspension and some more tech on a used car?. Or should I just save my money? I'm not planning on keeping either car. |

I would pass on things like the exec package and driver assistance pro. Laser lights aren't even that useful in the states unless you really live in a rural area. |

How long are you planning to keep the CPO car if you go that route? The same 3 years as the lease? Keep in mind BMW leases residuals are inflated so your resale value on the CPO model will likely be lower than what the lease residual is.

MSRP 67K. Discount 6K. Rebate 3K. Purchase Price 58K. After taxes, fees, etc balance 63K. MF 0.0018. Residual ~59%(39.5K) = 785/month. Option B: Yes it is also a lease for 3 years. MSRP 71.5K. Discount 9.5K. Rebate 3K. Purchase Price 59K. After taxes, fees, etc balance 64K. MF 0.00138. Residual ~60%(43K)=784/month, but basically will owe two months of my current lease so the monthly rate goes to 835/month. Thanks for the help. I'm really new to this stuff. |

The discounts are pretty low. On a brand new car you should aim for at least 10% off pre-incentive, along with base MF. On a loaner, aim for closer to 15% along with base MF. Involve multiple dealerships if you haven't already.
