Anyone bothered by the "rev limit" display on the speedometer?
I put the car in sport mode and noticed the horribly designed red line rev limit on the speedometer. It's these two extremely thin horizontal dashes which you would never see unless your staring directly at the speedometer. Which defeats the purpose because in sport mode (or any other mode ) you're supposed to keep your eyes on the road.

Got a lease and had standard options. No HUD. Try it out next and you'll wonder who designed it that way. They could have even used the main rpm bar on the side or something bigger. But instead some .5mm thin horizontal bar

Nothing new here, BMW, a company who prides themselves on tech, has one of (if not) the worst digital gauge clusters in the industry. Why they don't just include multiple display modes like every other manufacturer in the industry is beyond me.

However, after decades with BMW, and now with the G20, the gauges do not bother me at all... |

Yep - it's in the settings in the displays part. I've had the car for 4 months and only discovered it last week. So in all modes its the standard gauge cluster. Much better. The regular gauges are clearer than the sport ones.

I had asked this weeks ago in the coding section I should of asked here... I see my Tach on my HUD but it doesn't work. There is never any movement in the scale, when I rev engine or drive in any mode the Tach never operates; it is just a fixed picture of a tach, it never changes. No movement and no color changes its just frozen like a picture of a Tach... All other stuff in the HUD work fine. Maybe there is another setting that I don't know about to activate it? or its just faulty. Does anyone experience this or is there something I am doing wrong? Thanks. It's a M340 by the way. Thanks for your insight, appreciate it. |

As VipinLJ mentioned, have you coded anything else that may be interfering with the tach operation?

Yes!! This is why I have my display set to comfort mode (because you have the orange "needles") always. The sport mode display is awful for a quick glance of revs/speed. Wish I got the HUD

It wasn't coding, there's an option to include the tach in HUD:
