I would like the option to switch between Auto lights, Side Lights and OFF (DRL only on) when driving the car using the buttons by the steering wheel, both in daylight and in fading light if need be.
For some reason the G20 will not allow this and throws an annoying error message on the dash stating lights cannot be turned off or switched from Auto to sidelights when driving, meaning I have no control over which lights I want on when (headlights come on way too early). My F32 allowed me to decide what position I wanted the lights in, to give me full control. Is there anyway of coding this with Bimmercode on android? |

Similar but not the same
My problem is similar but differs in that I can turn the lights off while the car is running but not when it is moving faster that about 3mph.
Your reply suggested a solution to the original post but also indicates a daytime setting is needed; mine is not a day/night situation. Based on my limited coding experience (not cars) it would seem to me that if I can shut the lights off while rolling at 3 mph there should be a line of code that sets the 3 mph parameter that could be changed to 200 mph to get the lights off while moving. Are you aware of the coding needed to "fix" my annoyance? Thanks |

Looking for a solution to this as well on my Supra. Receive warning message stating that you cannot turn off lights while driving. Need to turn off headlights as I'm approaching the gate to my work.

Just want to know, did you guys simply set the BCD17 OFF_IN_PWF_FAHREN_ERLAUBT to nein and you are able to press the off button at night and day.
if not what other setting did you guys have to do to acheive this. |

I've just checked coding of my G20 (for Europe). See below…
I can switch off lowbeam with engine running and when driving up to 20 km/h using "OFF" pushbutton. If speed is greater then 20 km/h this impossible. Also, if I set DRL to off via iDrive menu and push "OFF" pushbutton on left side panel, I can drive at night time without any light )) You may stay DRL on (iDrive menu) at night, in this case you DRL will be work, and if you push "OFF" (up to 20 km/h), you will drive without lowbeam (but with DRL only). The same to parking lights. Try this coding: 1. Headunit (MGU): a) DAYDRIVING_LIGHT - set "standard" b) DAYDRIVING_LIGHT_REAR - set "aktive" 2. BDC: a) OFF_IN_PWF_FAHREN_ERLAUBT - set "ja" b) TFL_MODUS - set "tfl_s" c) LIC_Feature_4 - set "disable" d) ComAdapterPdu_0D1_Frontraumueberwchhung_G WW_WWA - set "nicht_aktive" |

Thank you for all the great info gents! I'm new, was wondering how you can change or input these codes? Is there something I have to get to connect to ECU and Bluetooth to phone? If so what is it called and where is the ECU connection port. Thanks! |
