Still haven’t gotten it in Canada. The last 3 updates were relatively quick to arrive. This one is taking forever!

Dealers will also install whatever the most up to date release from Ista , which is the version you mention ( that Ista version also includes an “alternative istep” which is the latest from the previous mainline, (11:2023) in case of an execution break ) |

Got 11/2023.73 today in my G21 LCI. Downloaded and installed without any hiccups - I got notified, then download started but I had to get out of the car so it interrupted. On my next journey leg it downloaded to the car. When I parked, it suggested that installation can start after the engine "cools down", I confirmed and left the car. In 15-20 minutes I received message on my phone that car SW was successfully updated. I didn't notice any changes so far, the release notes just read: "New features and improvements"

Any remote software update will lock your DME again. If you want to avoid this, you need to learn how to use the correct BMW software(s) to update modules individually and skip the DME for the update.

Here is a link to the release notes. Not sure why the in-car ones don’t give this info:
https://www.bmw.co.uk/en/topics/offe...ade-23-11.html Main one seems to be that the Drive Recorder (if you have it) can now be viewed in the app as well as in car or via a USB stick. The rest looks like ways for BMW to upsell some lighting animations. |

Got 11/2023.73 installed on my 23' M340i, heard the car make alot of strange electrical noises, even heard the rear make some noises too. A couple of things I noticed:
- Drive Recorder was greyed out, took like 2 forced reboots to bring it back. Took a long time to open the app as well, maybe 10-15 seconds - My wireless CarPlay is completly borked. No longer connects to my phone and shows the infamous "Bluetooth version no longer compatible" message. Even after forgetting the phone and re-joining I'm still getting the same error. CarPlay used to work flawlessly before on my iPhone 15 Pro. EDIT: Fixed by factory resetting my iPhone, so maybe an issue with the phone. - Built-in Maps got updated, I don't use it personally but there you go - Scrolling now seems smoother in iDrive8, used to be choppy and laggy - Only some of my custom coding got reverted (Comfort Plus etc.) some of my coding actually stuck around so I guess these new updates are only patching certain things and not others. - I'll have to test more but it seems like auto-start stop got a bit smoother, could just be my engine was hot. I'll have to test more when its colder. - Some changes to the HUD as well, in my driveway it did not show the speed limit. Now it shows a little white box, no speed but it says LIMIT EDIT: Also noticed that the brake hold feature is slightly revised, it used to take more "force" to dis-engage the brake hold feature, now its noticebly less. Took a bit for me to get used to. Last edited by dhock_holiday; 03-29-2024 at 11:25 PM.. |

I see that remote start is available for purchase for me after the update. Not interested in it but if the option was there to purchase the headlight welcome animation, I would have jumped on it right away. |

(Almost) the same for me. I downloaded 11/2023.73 on my phone, I connected it both via bluetooth and wifi, I drove, but it just won’t start uploading into the car.

Be patient, it took half an hour of me driving around to get it to start. Also make sure you have both Bluetooth and WIFI connected to the car

I also got the 11/2023.73 on my 23 340i a couple days ago. While it does appear to have installed properly, the app on my phone does not seem to think its up to date. So it shows that I have an update, and tries to download/transfer the update.
I don't notice any obvious changes. It did of course erase my Bimmercode changes (ambient color, startup drive mode, and startup warning message). |
