New Winter RFTs Front Axle Only
Halp Please! I sprung a leak in one of my front winter tires on my G20: Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 which, to my chagrin, is no longer in production. So if I can’t repair the tire, I’ve got to buy 2… Ontario law (and logic) is that I’ve got to have 2 of the same model tire on the same axle. Ideally I have 4 of the same, but I plan on keeping my current LM001s on the rear; I’ve only got 4 seasons and perhaps 15,000 kms on them.
Needless to say I’m not amused that either a) Blizzak did a short run or b) BMW bought the last of Blizzak’s LM001s. Either way: what would you recommend I replace my fronts with? Keeping in mind they’re RFTs (never again). 225/45R18 95H Thanks for any suggestions/recos, and here’s hoping it’s a nail. I know it’s not recommended but I’ve no problem plugging a RFT. Cheers! K |

If you can't find two maybe you can find one with similar tread wear.
Or, get two different different runflats with with similar tread wear to the rear. Its probably only you that will know front and rear are different brands/models |

I have a set of 4 LM001 + 796m for sale if you’re interested. Tread and age should be around the same as your current set.
If you only want two of the tires, we can discuss how to proceed. Not entirely syre if I want to deal with dismounting just one or two tires out of 4 though. |

@TorBimmer - to clarify, they’re on rims? What part of the city are you in? I’m taking my car to the shop tomorrow. If the flat cannot be repaired, I’ll be in touch for sure. It’d be two, rather than four, that I’d be looking for, so if you can noodle that a bit I’d appreciate it. The shop I’m taking it to is up at Bayview/John.
Thanks! |
