until they step inside lol....G20 design is fine, we don't need any radical styling changes, being understated is an asset. Besides BMW offends far too many with the radical approach. Call it boring but that's a plus for some of us who have no desire to stand out too much in traffic.

Look at Porche's design philosophy which works great for them. Many would argue BMW should take styling cues from them instead of Mercedes, Audi et al. There's always the shouty TSX-S poseur con- machine for those who find the G20 styling boring.

In my experience, if it wasn't because of the 'watered down' version of the F87 M2, I would have never considered buying the 'real' M.

Before buying the M2 CS, I tried the M2C. I wasn't as impressed as I hoped to have been so I bought a 420 M Sport with a subsequent stage one upgrade.

I've driven the M340i and think it's a very capable car, and had I had the need for a car that was 70% as good as the M, I'd have bought one in a heartbeat.

I think in most instances people buy a car because they like what it offers and how it satisfies their needs, be it a sporty coupe, or a family wagon.

As far as BMW is concerned, they turned me into a M owner from a bit-of-an-M-car. That's one extra M sale they would have scored ordinarily.

That's a win-win-win in my book; I win, M wins, BMW wins.
Do you track your CS?
Almost all the reviews say that there minimum difference between the M2C and CS on normal street roads. I don't track my car and the M2C is great for having fun St street legal speeds.

If you add the Cup2 to M2C the gap between the CS and C gets even narrower.
Spirited drives around the hold is all I get to do. Having said that, I value the opinion of those who have owned both M2C and M2CS - Davil - Jimjamz - and I think Alpine* would be good candidates.

My personal experience: the two cars are both great but there is a huge deal of difference in the poise and spirit of these cars that is hard to imagine unless you've owned a CS and driven it for a while
Of course if you own it you'll always try to justify the cost.

It's pretty much the same car with dynamic dampers and Cup2 tires. You can get the same in M2C by adding aftermarket shocks.

These guys have offended both the M2C and the CS.

The amazing thing is, you are welcome to your opinion in a democracy

Always the gentlemen

The only people who invest in this debate any more are readers of F87 M2 discussion forums (wait a minute…).

Not knocking the M2C as I loved mine. The CS feels very different though. So many little changes add up to make the car feel really different. It's been discussed ad infinitum. Steering is probably the biggest difference of all but there are lots of other little things. Anyway. Don't want to send this thread into a spiral.

Can you please share these reviews? I've seen a bunch and most reviews of the CS state the car is special and worth the $. Special because of the way the car drives. M2C is an amazing car, but it's noticeably different than an M2CS.

Did anyone notice that on the latest spy pics the notch is still there if you look closely. Also on the newest Alpina B3 LCI spy pics it looks like there is a notch?

Check out pic 13 from here:

Interesting. I wonder when it will be available to build and price at the dealership. My dealer here in Canada mentioned it could be Summer 2022 with the car arriving at dealerships in mid to late fall.

Again the chip shortage may mess up those timelines and BMW wont confirm anything anyway till next year.

BMW CEO said he expects the chip shortage to end summer next year which would be great for those looking forward to acquiring this car.
