Is it buggy? I haven't had any problems. Though I think most agree essential controls on buttons is best.

Apart from the distraction - as mentioned I find iD7 already quite distracting - it's the glare at night that I might be concerned about. Oh I know I can turn the brightness down, but then I wouldn't be able to read it, and that would bug the hell out of me.

When I had the LCI E90 320D they had dropped the hydraulic steering for electric steering but improved the suspension.
So the situation was my wife preferred the LCI as the steering was lighter for parking and a more softer ride.
I prefered the pre-LCI model!
But having said I preferred the LCI 320D over the new F30 320D as it seemed lighter, smaller and more agile. we had both in the family at the same time so we could do an A and B comparison.
The following G20 was and is for sure an alround better car IMO as it has improvements in all directions and a pleasure to drive even with 19" wheels!

Is there anywhere yet where you can see the full spec of an LCI model?

Yes, the bugs are appalling. All sorts of things wrong with Spotify, features disappearing without warning and then reappearing again, , connection issues and conflicts with android auto. I just dont rate it to be honest. I can just imagine with the new setup reaching for the climate control just to find its disappeared off the screen.

Hmm I'm not an M purist but keep the quads for the M cars.

I was annoyed that they made the wheel barrow spec from the f series 340i the standard spec on the g series then gave the m340 those awful big surrounds.

It just makes them look fake and cheap when you can see the actual pipe so easily and I'm an owner.

At then end of the day though bmw won't care a jot and if it sells more cars marketing wins.

Ah but..... Seeing the pipe there isn't great, and the surround is too big. But the way it is set back like it is, all the gunk from the tail pipes falls to the ground without coming through the over sized surround., thus not getting it filthy. My last car had quad chrome tail pipes and they were a b*tch to keep clean.

If you're going to do quad pipes then at least make it worthwhile like the S3 etc, not like this...

Anybody else seen the teaser posted on BMW's official instagram page? Looks like the headlights found in most of the leaked photos are legitimate and the front grill doesn't seem to be far off the current one! I think it all comes down to what the interior looks like with the iD8 and touch screen. Looks like not long left now, though still nothing on the BMW UK website.

Does anybody know if pre-LCI cars with iD7 be updated to iD8?

I remember my LCI F36 getting an update from iD6 to 7.

Headunit is completely different, so I don't think so

According to the configurator, leather is no longer standard. £1300 on a 330i M Sport.

Wow, my current 320d xDrive would have a list price of £51k...£51k for a 2 litre diesel car that will take the best part of a year to arrive!?

I assume you mean drive 5 to 6, as the F36 never got idrive 7.

4/5/6 all used revisions of the same hardware, which is why you could 'upgrade it' (NBT /NBT EVO, with the difference being the amount of RAM In the system)

idrive 7 uses the MGU headunit
idrive 8 uses the MGU21 headuniut

You’re right, it must have been from 5 to 6.

Ugh. That screen. The lack of AC buttons. And now the lack of a proper-looking shifter!

There must be hundreds of orders in the order bank. What'll happen to them?

I agree that the gear selector doesn’t look great. I wonder how the ‘flick over to Sport’ works?

My June 21 ordered G21 330i has gone from list £49,580 to (as much as I can make it like for like) list £53,010.

When I say like for like the LSD seems to have been removed from the MSport pack and HUD which I currently have doesn't seem to be available.

So mentally adjusting for those that's quite a hike in price.

Pretty sure they never charged for different standard paint colours before the LCI? The only free paint colour seems to be white...?

Shortly after I took delivery of my Mineral White 330i in March last year, metallic paint became a chargeable option.
