I have no issues for it. Tech is my thing for a living, and tech, this is. I think it actually looks better than a tesla because at-least here its curved towards the driver and its one screen as opposed to two separate ones, creating the illusion of a much more flowing design.

I understand its different and people might prefer the old design. With that said, this is where the industry is going, for better, or for worse. Instead of knocking it, you might want to think about how you could use this screen to better your driving experience (and yes, tech is now a part of the driving experience). The utility of a bigger, easy to read display is endless. Carplay maps is one. The map is honking huge on these things now. Which is great, because you don’t need to look at it very hard to see where you are going.

I really like the front but hate the Back and that screen should have been built into the dash. It's just weird looking. Overall I think it looks really mean in that frozen blue color.

The grille is horrible. The interior screens are too generic. Etc. etc.

Yeah but no one would buy it. Besides BMW would package it and price it higher than an X3 with the B58 six cyl. This is what they did with the last F31 3 Series wagon sold here until 2018.

Why "Negative Nancy's" comment. People aren't allowed to state their opinions on that God awful job of not integrating the laptop into the dash. In my opinion the interior of this vehicle looks like shit. There now you can include me in your "negative nancy's list.

And don’t forget this is (likely) the last major (might be minor updates) revision to the 3 series as we know it before the NK electric 3 series becomes the new 3 series.

People will then hate that car, especially because no gas engine, and suddenly the car after that and the NK cars people will then love.

This is called rosy retrospective, also known as the “rose tinted glasses” effect. It happens in part because cars can have a sentimental value with people, particularly because people only drive a few cars in their lifetime.

It also happens because it makes people feel better about their current car, because they aren’t driving the latest and greatest. Thus its a psychological justification.

I make no illusion that my E90 isn’t old. It still rides great yes. But there are better cars out there now. Even as horrible as the F gen was, it would still be better than my E90 on tech, which is the same as the E46 -> E90, E36 ->E46. Each generation is better, from a tech perspective. Purists will say that doesn’t matter, its the driving experience. Except tech in the 21st century is playing more a role in what the driving experience is. The definition of the “ultimate driving machine” is constantly evolving, and it just isn't about handling or power anymore. The E36, E46, E90, etc.. is no longer the ultimate driving machine, the G20 is. Until its replaced by something more advanced.

Nothing wrong with having an opinion. Problem is having a baseless opinion. Unless you have extensively used the system or extensively interacted with it in person, your opinion is premature. Pictures don't always tell the truth.

This exactly is how I feel about the refresh. And the lack of shifter is absolute insanity ! What were they thinking.
