I have both features disabled so I suppose I'm not taking advantage of the tech available in my car. Oh well, I've been driving without such aids for nearly 40 years and I've done okay for myself. Seriously though, when I did a test drive of an M340i that surprised me. I just don't like aggressive overreach of the vehicle, even if the sensitivity can be adjusted. Not even a vibration of the steering wheel. Nope, no thank you.

If you use an eSIM on your phone, the signal bar for cell reception will not display on iDrive.

I have an eSIM and a physical SIM on my iPhone and the signal bar only comes on when the physical SIM is active. I have another phone that uses a physical SIM card and I see the bars on iDrive but when I use just eSIM from my iPhone - no signal bars displayed on iDrive.

Wonder why iDrive cares about these details. My signal bar displays just fine on my E90.

If you forget to reposition the side view mirrors and drive off with them in the parked position, they will automatically open to driving position after a few moments of driving.

AFAIK this isn't new and is standard. Have this feature on my '06 E90. Good to know it's still there on our G20.

I kind've figured that might be the case but this is the first BMW I've owned in many years so wasn't absolutely certain. My only other Bimmer in the past was an e46 M3 and that definitely didn't have this feature. Lol.

I use eSIM and mine displays. I am not running dual SIM though.

Perhaps the problem is dual SIM. I disabled the physical sim and I have just eSIM active - no dice

You can setup one of the "quick hit" buttons to go right to a tone setting, for instance on mine #1 is Bass control, much easier than navigating to settings then sound settings....

When I enter the car sometimes, music from my last source, for example: Spotify (on CarPlay) - doesn't start playing automatically after my phone connects to iDrive.

I've discovered that once I hit my preset button (set to #1) for CarPlay, the music instantly comes on. Pretty handy.

I've been looking through the threads of the people who have retrofitted one... Maybe it'll be a spring project

I've been trying to figure this out too. My '22 M340i also does not have the small storage box on the driver side. So I don't think it's specific to the 330e but maybe the 2022 model year?

I think but could be wrong that the cars manufactured in Germany have it and the ones made in Mexico don't.

jodandayo PLF69 My '21 330i has Mexico listed as the final assembly point, but I have the small storage area on the driver's side. In fact every BMW I've had/sat in from the past 5-6 years had one as well. Maybe it really is just a '22 MY thing. Wonder why they would get rid of it.

I can confirm that my 2021 MX built M340i has the storage compartment as well.

We gotta figure out if we can retrofit. Can someone post pics of their cubby? If it's cutting a hole and adding the trim maybe something can be done cleanly.

Maybe due to the chip shortage.

I discovered it is really irritating if you have Comfort Access when your wife gets back to the car first, has her key in her handbag and gets in the passenger seat.

Yes, I discovered this too! I have to manually go switch my profile back on or else the seat will move to her preferred position. Not to mention, I like the green ambient light.. you know, important settings.

2022 330i from Mexico plant. Also no storage on driver's side of the instrument panel below the headlight switches, but I do see the indentation (slight recess) on the panel that where presumably it would have been.

Noticed that in Autotrader.ca and online dealership inventory photos for the 2022 models, missing cubby part as of the shortage compartment.. no doubt.

IIRC, the thing that determined having the small storage compartment to the left of the steering wheel on the previous generation (F30) was if you had optioned the blindspot and lane departure warning assist. If you had optioned it, you did not get the extra storage compartment.
