The nonsport grill is a much needed addon to the sport. This star pattern is fugly.

Looks awesome! Especially with the grille in cerium gray! I think this star pattern goes well with the grille down low.

Enlighten me: why is Bmw not using the grilles as intended. No airflow needed anymore?

It's funny, the main compliment I get on my Tanzanite M340i from random people is "love the new grill!" lol I think it looks good in person.

Maybe if you compare it with your M3 Competition Pkg but this car serves a different purpose. It's a fast sedan priced in the $60k range (roughly 20-25% less than the M3). A very competent everyday car with loads of power/torque and with the proper tires (Michelin PS4S) it handles quite nicely. I know it's a downgrade from what you have but if you get the chance to drive one, do so. You might change your mind

You mean you like to spend 2 hours on a video, where he shows you every tiny detail of the car's design, as if you had no eyes? Then he steps inside, tells you not to get leather because that would mean killing animals. They have vanes that open when the engine is hot. They close for aerodynamics.

Well, BMW found out that the engine does not need the same ammount of air all the time and by including an adjustable/adaptive grill they could make the car more efficient and thus getting better MPG and better performance at high speeds.

Pretty simple.

I hated the new grill when I saw it. Then I saw the blacked out grill on the car that would eventually be mine and I said "Yup!". I still would prefer white paint down the middle like on my X3 but I don't miss the vertical slats like I thought I would.
