Only time will tell, but I give BMW the benefit of the doubt considering they haven't let me down since the E36.

No M3 but since the E21 for me . They let me down with the F10 though and the F8X is borderline to the point that I would not buy another for myself.

Well hopefully the G8X will have redeeming qualities where the F8X left a void.

Agreed. I am not yet 100% sold on the G8X due to it loosing many of the unique elements that made the M3/4 more attractive compared to the competition. Time will tell as we learn more about the car.

For now, I am very happy my M4cs for another year or two, but I am keeping my options open. I am seriously ogling that 992 Turbo-S, that's a hell of a dual use car

For the use case the chances are good. However the availability of summer 2021 rumors for the AWD version might be too late. We have the eye on the M5C LCI and the 992 C4 as well. I suspect quite good deals can be had on both to move product in the wake of the virus.

Those are rumours I never believed. It simply did not follow the standard timeline.

Agreed fantastic dual purpose car if you can stomach the risk of putting it in the wall...

WWM3 The steering sucks. It sounds like garbage. Generally, it lacks character. Still a great car.

Yes yes and yes. Questionable.

Really? I read through the posts and one of them caught my eye. Someone mentioned that the vehicle had effortless speed going around the ring. Effortless speed sucks I want a car that is engaging, a car that I feel like I'm driving it not being driven. My X5M is effortless, fast as hell but nothing in the feel department. Anyone can drive fast just put your foot down and there you go. If I wanted a Tesla I would buy one. At least in the Porsche you get a feel for the car an emotional attachment in the M's where is my feel, where is my attachment? I had a 1994 325is and that vehicle was a pleasure to drive. Now nothing.
Exactly how i feel when i drive my 40i x5!!! The thing is quick, easy to drive, nil engagement, and takes 0 focus. On the other hand, my 135i has much more feedback, fantastic sound, and i just enjoy driving that thing. But honestly, i rather drive the x5. I think its because the 135i is just too old and unrefined. Raw? Not exactly, but really just unrefined and the x5 is just so luxurious.

Bottom line, we wont know until the cars are released and the reviews start coming in. My m2c was a fantastic car and a fabulous daily. I have faith that the next m3/4s would be just as exciting and amazing. BUT, i may get a porsche next... ive never driven one but everybody from everywhere talk about the chassis and the feel everytime they talk about a porsche. And now i have the x5 for the family, i may get a proper sports car for myself.

....and even the Porsche guys talk about the differences between a 993, 996, 997, etc. Every newer version lacks something the old version had. It's never ending.

Luckily the human being is very adaptive. At first when you switch to a car with less traditional “driver’s car” amplitude you miss the old car dearly but it’s memory fades and your senses adapts to the new car. The best is when you switch to a more visceral driver’s car like going to a 911 from an F80, you’ll love it even if it’s more muted than a 997 and less agile than an E30 M3.

I just don't get the Doom and Gloom about almost every Piece of Info we get. But that's ok, shorter delivery Times for those who want one i guess.

You bring up a very valid point but all the doom and gloom is coming from the first impression, which means everything. The looks of the car gave a very bad impression from the start. Now the car has to work its way back up. Personally, I think sales goals will be met but it will not be a winner, if not underwhelming.

Agreed, was a random comment thrown out. I can't see bmw delaying it's intro. Until ynguldyn confirms I will assume that rumor is nonsense.

Time will tell. I will reserve Judgement on the G8x until i see a Picture of the whole Car at least, not just bits and pieces in isolation. If i don't like it on Pictures i will look at one in Person. If it's ugly then, well so be it and time to look at alternatives. I just don't think they will release something offensively ugly (to the Masses, of course everybody's taste is different and there will always be a People not liking a design). So i'm not at the point of first impression yet.

I agree but I dont even look that far down now that I've had the HUD for 4 years.
