I can drive 3 miles after leaving my fob home! Never received a warning .. until I attempted to drive back home!

Me, thinking I lost my fob paid $400 for a replacement, only to find the damn fob on kitchen table!!!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Needless to say, I purchased an apple air tag!!!

Which is nice.
On the welcome screen, the volume knob is in the wrong side !
Also, the steering wheel controls are also on the wrong side. Wonder if the Welcome screen for right hand drive vehicles was just mirrored from a left hand drive vehicle. 🤔

I coded my G21 to start in Eco Pro as my wife is the main driver.

Ditching my 2018 G30 540i for a 2020 m340i - good idea?

The moment I bought my 2018 540i, I felt a lack of sportiness and athleticism. I test drove a 2020 m340i and instantly fell in love with it. I think its the right balance of performance and luxury for a daily driver.

Wanted to ask what are the things to expect buying an m340i at 42K kms and if its the right stem to go from a 5 series.

Any help would be appreciated!

This morning I learned that new cars still have the issue that allows some air conditioning to seep through the defrost vents, or dash vents, and fogs the windshield up. I can't believe this is still an issue in 2022 with new cars.

Polarized Light

A polarised lens will cut out reflected light in one particular plane (also some of the light from the images in the instruments is polarised, so that can 'disappear' too)

The display you see on the HUD is 'reflected light'. It comes at you in the horizontal plane.

The lenses in ALL polarized sunglasses are specifically designed to cut out reflected light in the horizontal plane, cutting out glare from reflections on the ground (think wet roads in sunlight).

Also utterly brilliant for fresh-water / river fishermen where it enables them to see through any reflected ripples on the surface directly to under the surface.

SO...if you've got a HUD, get sunglasses without the polaroid option for driving in sunlight.

Clue...if you ever see an aviation film with the pilot wearing polaroids, shows it's an amateur production....

Also you can rotate the HUD to make it work with polarized sunglasses.

I've tried this and it didn't work no matter which angle I did so I ended up buying non polarized sunglasses just for the bmw

Oakley uses an alternative to polarization. Mine are of that variant and they work perfectly. Cant remember what they call it but I think only certain models use the alternative variant.

I noticed there is very noticeable metal click sound on the outside when the steering wheel is turning to the left (nothing to the right) when the car is stationary.

Could be as simple as metal rubbing or more serious stuff.

Bring in the car in tomorrow. we will see.

Why not start a new thread for this? This thread is about new and interesting things owners of G2x cars have learned about their cars.

But in short, yes, buy the car. Unless for some reason you need the space afforded by the 5er.

Well I just had my 2020 M340i X in for its 50 k service which includes new spark plugs. So, wow car felt like it gained 50HP! I know it didn't but damn. I didn't really notice any change in performance either. I am guessing because it happens over time you don't notice

And that little compartment disappeared on my 22 model 330i. I was looking forward to hiding stuff in there.

Haha. That's mean. Eco Pro's throttle is so muted you practically have to floor it before it starts to pickup.

If you enable the reduced cockpit and press the button on the right lever (the one used for changing the central info) it'll go back to the normal cockpit with all the info for a few seconds and then back to the reduced mode.

Today I noticed that my G21 (330e) detects and displays not only speed limit signs, but other relevant signs like "overtaking prohibited", and shows the distance of validity of that sign.

If you have DAP and aSLA for exemple in Austria, when you have sign to reduce your speed to 80 or 100kmh when is raining, car will do it.
So if is not raining car will drive 130kmh, if is raining it will reduce speed to 80/100kmh.
It is cool option.
I didn't try yet how is with signs when you need to reduce speed for exemple from 10PM - 4AM.
