Bimmertech amp is their version of the Match PP86DSP, you can compare specifications with the Match UP-7BMW in the Match website.

Good afternoon
First of all, thank you for all the information that you are putting. I have a 440i from 2021 and have bought the Up7dsp and the Ram 1.7 cable set. I have done all the installation and the result is that when I turn it on, the sound is very low and as if the subwoofers do not work and it does not allow me to load any configuration. The installation is correct and easy, first I disconnect the original cables and put them in the 1.7 ram and then I have made the direct power supply from the battery. But I couldn't get it to work. Does anyone have any idea what may be happening to me? Apologies for my English and thanks for the information, Kind regards

El UP-7DSP tiene instalado el adaptador MEC ANALOG IN?

Hola Encanto . Si que lo tiene , es lo primero que comprobé , la referencia es la M117002 que según la pagina del fabricante es la que lo tiene y la ref M17001 es la que no lo tiene. El mío según la ref de la caja del producto es M117002

Es muy raro , pues lo pongo en marcha y es como si los canales de los subwoofers estuvieran anulados , vuelo a poner con el Hifi quitando en cableado 1.7 ram y funcionan bien .-

Esta debe ser la configuración de los canales en el amplificador Match en su auto - si no puede ver el AUX input significa que no tiene el MEC instalado:

Bueno, si que esta como me lo ha mandado en la foto, por lo que el aparato es el correcto ....por fin he conseguido que funcione, ahora me queda configurarlo bien...voy a hacer pruebas con diferentes configuraciones .
Encanto , ¿sabes de algún sitio donde descargar ficheros afpx....la verdad es que no controlo nada el dsptoolpc?.- Saludos

You might need to use the Match UP7 amp file though (if it works) doesn't seem like one exists for BMW. Maybe you can download it from bimmertech?

No you'd need a dedicated amp. I have a separate amp.

I just recently installed the Bimmertech PP 86DSP in my G20 330i M Sport and have a few things to note:

1. The stock HiFi subs started making a burning smell with any sort of bass, you'll need to 100% replace them with the Bavsound/BimmerTech offerings or you're going to be very sorry

2. The turn signal is annoyingly louder when you're driving with low volume, however I just found an expert coding to change the volume, so I'll mess with that tomorrow.

3. ASD won't code off!! I've gone into RAM and disabled ASD but it won't shut off, and it's driving me crazy

4. Sound quality is unbelievable otherwise now that I have the Bavsound subs installed (wasn't too bad to install), but once I can figure out how to remove ASD I'll be happy forever

Alright, I'm a little confused.

Attempted the upgrade today and it did not go well.

I look on youtube and there are several vids of the bimmertech version of the UP 7DSP...yet that one doesn't require you to run your own power to the battery?? And it comes with a new full mounting bracket to literally just stick it on up there?

I thought the bimmertech was basically just a rebranded Match up7...so how does it work with the harness's power instead of having to go to the battery? And how does it work without the pp io cable? And the mec analog? All these videos are about iDrive 7 yet no mention of needing that stuff.

Why have people been talking about the UP 7 DSP the past several pages when this other version exists?? That's actually plug and play?? And now here's me $1300 later and I'm still going to have to go to an installer.

This addresses my two main install snags - I don't see where I can run the power to the battery without a big bump in the floor liner since there doesn't seem to be a conduit from the battery area to the amp area, and I don't have the hardware, tools, or know-how to mount the amp somewhere securely.

BimmerTech amp is their version of the Match PP86DSP, not the UP-7BMW or the UP-7DSP.

Whatever you got is not from BimmerTech as it comes with the mounting bracket and is PnP -no need to wire it to the battery. The UP-7BMW also includes the mounting bracket and is PnP.

The UP-7DSP is not PnP.

Can you link to the amp you bought? I think Encanto is talking about the UP7-BMW being plug and play. See the link below. Also can you confirm what audio you have?

I bought the Up 7DSP, MEC-Analog, and PP-BMW 1.7RAM like it was stated many times in this thread was needed for iDrive 7 w/ RAM module. Many times it was said that the Up 7BMW will not work with cars that have the RAM module and you need to get the DSP instead. Now apparently I find out basically the same thing is available but in a plug n play version.
