More power after Break-in service?

I've just had the service done to exit break-in mode. I think it's a completely different car now! Much smoother shifting due to smoother power delivery, and noticeably more power. Is it just in my head?

What are other GTS owner's thoughts and experiences?

I have yet to complete my break in service .... I can't imagine this car with more power. I don't think the service opens up any more power though (but I'm no expert)

Its a myth that any BMW M cars change in power or behavior after the break in service. The only thing the break in service does is unlock the launch control and that's it.

Yeah there is definitely no such thing. We're glad you're happy with your car though!

I believe it also allows the ability to achieve top speed at this service.

Always love it when they tell you they "unlocked all the power"

I think the Canadians (M4 GTS & VCP) were hitting 305kph outta the box last year on their ED

That's why I say is it only in my head, but my butt feels a noticeable difference. It is running better, and there are some other changes. I've had lots of M cars over the years, and only 1 other time did I perceive any difference. That was my M6.

Mine felt the same (great), but it could have been in my head too.

I got mine back on Saturday and I think it's just that you don't feel you have to be as careful. It's tough to keep from winding it out and not going to fast and just going for a spirited drive knowing There were no restrictions made it feel like there was more there.

Maybe it just seems like it bucks less?

Anyway, it finished 4th at a PCA autocross on Saturday!
