How to fix door sill emblem?
The front passenger door sill emblem is coming off on my f15. Did anyone had this problem and was able to fix it? Please let me know how you fixed it.

given that you have the bend marks in the soft metal, your best option may be to replace it. I'm not sure you could ever repair it enough to look good, vs just replacing.
Maybe time for an upgrade, i.e., OEM LED door sill https://www.rgsportshop.com/index.ph...product_id=809 |

Thanks Clifton. I might replace it down the road but for now I plan to fix it. I wonder, what is the process to remove it without breaking anything as it will be easier to work on it while it removed than trying to glue it back in while it's on the car

What about just gluing it down or using strong double sided 3m tape so that you don't have to risk more damage. You could possibly even do this without removing any plastic and save headache and time. You might even be able to use a small hand held metal roller to work out the bend marks. Just kicking around ideas. |

The sill (mucket trim) pieces snap into the the place. The way it is sticking up in your pick…looks like one or more of the clips on the underside that holds it in place have broken off.
You can see the various sill trim pieces that snap into #1 in the diagram below from the part database. Check to see if your sill piece still has the plastic clips that secure it. The fix appears to be to purchase additional clips…or purchase the appropriate mucket trim piece for your X5…which looks like it should be #8 (or #7 if you have illuminated sills). The diagram below is from www.bimmercat.com…enter the last 7 digits of your VIN to get the correct 11 digit BMW part numbers for either the hardware pieces or sill piece…you can then simply type BMW xx xx x xxx xxx (where x- the part nbrs) into a google search box to find vendors that sell that part. Or call you local BMW dealership and have them order it for you.

Had a similar issue on my drivers side front trim.
I then switched the drivers side and passenger side ones so it gets less traffic. Came out next to perfect. |

Thank you, everyone. It's actually pretty easy to remove and there is no need to detach the door sill trim. I was able unclip the inserts by just inserting the credit card and gently prying it up. See picture.
Then I detached the metal piece, cleaned it up and used 3M trim tape that I picked up at AutoZone. Last edited by e90gene; 10-16-2021 at 04:30 PM.. |

Agree, there is zero reason to remove the sill piece. - Use a trim tool, or provided wooden trim tool and pry up the existing piece at the spots on where the clips are. - Snap in the new piece. Done If you don’t want the OEM LED version, I replaced my OEM ///M ones with the LED shortly after taking ownership. I’d consider selling my front set if you’re interested. Cheers, V

Did you search for them on eBay using their 11 digit BMW part number? If not, that usually works better than just trying a generic word search.
