How low will they go?! 2012 6 series convert major price drops.
I am a current BMW leasee and have been waiting for my loyalty to start so I can trade in for a new 6 series. Back in May when they first appeared on BMW's website they were leasing for $1289 a month, As of August 1st they have dropped to $1089 a month!!!
Will this continue to say the high $800's, or low to mid to high $900's??? Also if this is the case how low will the coupe's go?? $800's?... It says they hit dealerships Oct 1st, My lease ends Decemeber 1st.. so will the prices drop like they did with the convertible before I turn in my car? I really would prefer the convertible but want to be under $1000 on monthly payment.. Thanks! |

OK, I will bite. I would not expect they will get much lower immediatley. It will be a function of the economy and demand. If you want a convertible under $1,000/mo. Go find a dealer that will make you a deal on a car you order. Order it without any options. Use Mutiple security deposits to buy down the money factor, and if you are close, then put down a few extra dollars. If sales lag, you will see more deals that are either subsized through the money factor on the lease or the residual. If things get bad they could put extra incentives on them. However if I were a betting man, on a new 650convertible, I would say it won't get to the levels you stated.
A final option is to wait until the 640 comes out. It is cheaper than the 650, and may meet your criteria. |

noobie to this forum though around a number of others regarding the 6er and Ms so hi to all.....im wondering the same thing, my m6 is up in the end Jan and ive been toying with the idea of the new 650i coupe, but the msrp is rediculous compared to my former 645 and even my current m6. It will be interesting to see how the end of year incentives work out, i think bmw really overpriced this new 6er, so hopefully the discounts/incentives will add up to bring a nicely optioned car in the $800+ range, otherwise i may extend the lease or even look at the e92 M3

I simply can't imagine lease rates (36 month/ 12K per year) EVER getting under $1100 for the equipped car you'd actually want to drive, w/o some monster cap reduction. But good luck. |

Yes, but as I said, look at the car they spec at that price and the cap reduction involved. $7,300+ due at signing.
I'll give at a $600 payment if you want. Just give me a $30K cap reduction. Time to learn more about leasing. |

The rates you list appear to be for a 640i convertible. That's an appropriate lease rate for that car IMHO.

But you are right in the sense that "pre-tax" the rates for a 650i convertible can be under $1000.00 per month on a 36month lease -depending on the options:
$989*/month for 36 months $3,500 Option Allowance available.• $989 First months payment • $5,500 Down payment • $0 Security Deposit • $725 Acquisition fee • $7,214 Cash due at signing

It will still be over $1k/mo after taxes, fees, etc. And a $5k downpayment on a lease? That's a losing proposition. I would never do a lease with such a huge downpayment.

Why would you think such a thing? Leasing is very much like any other finance option, and putting a reasonable downpayment is a very cost effective way to reduce your montly payement and finance charges. There is absolutley no down side. In fact, when financial incentives are used in this capacity, as BMW often does, your cost can be significantly lower than you may imagine. Id never spend $1K+ on a car payment unless it was from marinello. My M6 is quite a ways below that mark, and yes I bought her brand new and fully loaded.

This is the deal i was given on the 7 series from a broker ... MandVleasing.com - This was in September before the October price drops.. I have yet to email about the 6 series but if the 750i was $1029 on bmwusa.com and they quoted me $869. Now that 750i is $939 on bmwusa.com I assume that the 750i would be around $780 a month with $2500 down. Someone email them an get a quote on a 6 coupe??
2012 BMW 750i Price: $869.00 36 months $2500 Down Add Local Sales Tax, Add $725 bank fee & DMV fees. Dealers are real aggressive right now on prices for the 7. There is 10-15k off on those cars to move them.

Completely false, its no different than any other form of finance, you have insurance for those things in all cases. Ive done it for more than a decade and its the most cost effective way to get into these types of cars. You have to be crazy to put zero down on $100K cars, you're financing an unjustifable, and completely avoidable amount of interest for no reason. To each his own, but from a finance point of view, its the most efficient way to effectively use your $$$
