render

thanks to whoever put in the time into making those rendered pictures, but i'm not loving the huge tail lights that wrap around into the quarter panel.

i realize that post-bangle it's probably wishful thinking to have the x4 look like a 5/6th-size version of the current x6, but i certainly hope they do some serious reworking of the awkward design of the current x3 (which, to me, looks like the front half and the rear half were designed by two completely separate teams).

that said, i can't wait to see what they come up with - if they do it right, i may need to trade in the x6 sooner than i expected...

If they build it my wife will buy it. she is looking for a replacement for her 2006 330 but hasn't found anything she likes. She likes my X6 but says it too big for her, when I sent her the renderings and articles on the X4 she said that was what she had in mind.

Really don't get the hate for the X6

Thanks for the link- I'd consider trading the X6 for something smaller too. With no kids and 2 dogs, the size has been the biggest (no pun intended) issue for me.

I really don't get all the negative comments on the link. I guess my tastes must really be out of step with the majority of people, as I happen to find the X6 a really great looking car. In fact, that's why I chose to buy it as opposed to the vast sea of other SUVs out there. And as far as utility, how many people push either their SUVs or their regular cars to 10/10s, whether on road or off? Seriously, for the usage the majority of people get out of their vehicles, the X6 doesn't seem any worse than anything else out there. Reasonable people can disagree on looks- that's understandable- but to bash it based on performance or utility is just beyond me, unless every negative comment is from a Dakar Rally or Formula One racer.
